The couple hit the headlines earlier this month with their antics as they appeared on Celebrity Big Brother together, but it appears that there is more to their feelings as they start to explore a relationship together.
Speaking to OK! magazine, the Blue singer confessed: "We text each other a lot and talk on the phone a lot. I'm trying to build a relationship with her outside the house in our personal lives. I really care about her."
When asked by the publication if Ms Waltz had met his family yet, Ryan, 30, said: "Not yet. And I emphasise the 'yet'. My mum absolutely loves her, she said: 'You need to sort that one out!' I'm trying! Only time will tell."
The singer also touched on the subject of Casey Batchelor. Casey was also a housemate in this year's CBB and Ryan initially flirted with her before moving onto Waltz. The decision caused a fallout in the house and left Casey in tears.
He added: "Yeah, me and Casey are fine. I was pretty upfront with Casey at the back end of it all.
"I just saw her as a friend and she knew. I saw her at the after-show and said: 'Are we cool?' and she said: 'We're more than cool'. I said: 'Wicked'."
