The 32-year-old surprised her fans over the Christmas holidays when she announced that her boyfriend Rami Hawash had proposed. However, just weeks later it was confirmed that she had since chosen to end the engagement.
Talking to Now magazine, Collins said she only agreed to marry her then-partner because other diners at the restaurant where Hawash proposed encouraged her to do so. She added that she knew straightaway that she had made "a big mistake" by saying yes.
She explained: "I knew I shouldn't have said yes, but his proposal was so public.
"My mum and dad were there and his mum was there. He asked me three times and I didn't answer.
"Then everyone in the restaurant started clapping, so I said yes because I didn't want a scene.
"When we got engaged, my family didn't buy me cards, there was no celebration and I didn't throw a party. I think we all knew it was a big mistake."
