The 54-year-old is currently expecting his first child with girlfriend Lauren Silverman. With a due date any day now, the music mogul added that he is keeping his mobile phone switched on as he attends the Britain's Got Talent auditions across the country.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Cowell said: "I am keeping my phone on during auditions 100 per cent. If it happens I just have to go and dash onto a plane.
"I probably will be nervous when it all happens. I am going to watch Father Of The Bridge tonight to get used to that.
"I have got a feeling my child is going to be really naughty.
"I would like to be at the birth – but a little bit far away."
In July 2013, a US newspaper revealed the millionaire was to become a parent for the first time with US socialite Lauren Silverman. At the time, 36-year-old Ms Silverman was technically still married to her husband – Andrew Silverman – who was also a close friend of Cowell's.
The Silvermans, who have a seven-year-old son together, finalised their divorce in August 2013.
