Pork Pie To Blame For Wedding Brawl

A pork pie has been blamed as being the source of a fight at a wedding at the weekend.

At around 7.20pm on Saturday night (15 February) a number of police were called to an "incident" at the Harold Club in Bradford, following reports of a large disturbance.

The incident was revealed in a tweet from officers from the dog section of the West Yorkshire Police Force. In its message, it told followers: "Tia to Bradford to large fight at a wedding & assistance call from officers. All started over a pork pie apparently! #clubclosed #dayruined".

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police later confirmed the incident.

They said: "A number of officers attended and the matter was quickly brought under control.

"The section of the premises open to the public was closed to prevent any further problems. However, the members-only area remained open for business. Police units resumed from the scene shortly after 8pm."

Three arrests were made at the scene, including two for assault and one for a public order matter.
