Thompson Was 'Bossy' In Relationship

Emma Thompson has admitted she was "bossy" during her marriage to Kenneth Branagh.

The couple met in 1987 and married two years later.

However, after six years of marriage, the couple announced they had gone their separate ways in 1995. A statement at the time claimed that the split was due to the couple drifting apart because of their busy work schedules, but there were also separate claims made that Branagh had grown close to Helena Bonham-Carter after they co-starred in the 1994 version of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

Now though, Thompson, 54, has admitted her bossiness also caused problems in her marriage.

In an interview with TV Times, the actress admitted: "I'm a bit bossy, and I have to say some people find it quite difficult to deal with.

"Mentioning no names, but my first husband."

Both Thompson and Branagh have since remarried. In 2003, Branagh married film art director Lindsay Brunnock, whom he met during the shooting of Shackleton.

While in 1995, Thompson started a relationship with her Sense and Sensibility co-star Greg Wise. The couple have one child together, a daughter Gaia born in 1999 and in 2003, Thompson and Wise married in Dunoon, Scotland.
