However, the singer – who is currently pregnant with her first child – has also admitted that she may have left it too late to fulfil her wish.
In a recent interview with the MailOnline, the 32-year-old explained: "I would like a big family but I am realistic and I'm aware at 32 I have left it a little late. So I'm realistic about how many I can have, but I would like to have more than one."
She continued: "I think women today do struggle with the 'having it all' element. For me there was nothing stopping me but I wanted to have it all and take the opportunities that I had with my career and create a really secure family unit, a home.
"It's a tricky one," she admitted. "Because we want to be indulgent in all these massive opportunities which come your way and soak it all up and I think the years fly by and then you are suddenly in your thirties."
While the mum-to-be added that because she had been given the chance to achieve so much in her career, she is happy to be "selfless for the first time ever" as she prepares to give birth.
She said: "That world – which is a world away from where I came from – will hopefully be passed onto my kids, and that's the benefit of it. I'm lucky to feel like that by my age."
Walsh and her boyfriend, Justin Scott, have been in a relationship for more than 10 years. This will be the couple's first child together.
