Lily Allen's Miscarriage Scare

Lily Allen has admitted she almost died after suffering a miscarriage.

The singer lost her child when she was six months pregnant, and she later developed septicemia.

In an interview with The Sun on Sunday, the 28-year-old said she would "never get over" the loss of her son, but credited her husband Sam Cooper for helping her through the heartache.

She explained: "It's not something that you get over. I held my child and it was really horrific and painful – one of the hardest things that can happen to a person.

"I was overwhelmed by what an incredibly unlucky thing it was to happen. But I had this man standing by my side, who I knew was going to be with me for the rest of my life."

A few days after the death of her son, Allen said she was then rushed back to hospital with blood poisoning, but said she wasn't worried because she was "numb".

"I nearly died," she added. "But I was numb and I didn't care. I'd just lost my baby and that is a reflection of how numb I was."

Allen and Cooper, who married in June 2011, are now parents to Ethel, two, and one-year-old Marnie. Allen had previously been in a relationship with Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons. She had also suffered a miscarriage during that relationship.
