Baby Son Helping Sandford's Depression

Frankie Sandford has revealed that her baby son, Parker, is helping her to overcome her depression.

The Saturdays' singer was admitted to a clinic in 2011 where she received treatment for depression, and when she fell pregnant last year, she was worried that the condition could return.

However, in an interview with Fabulous magazine, the 25-year-old addressed a question over whether she was worried she would develop post-natal depression.

She said: "Yeah, I was so paranoid. I assumed that I would, but luckily I didn't.

"It's been a big relief. I can see how it happens – all of a sudden you realise that this little life is relying on you, and that's quite a big deal.

"I've got another purpose to life now. It's not just me. I want to be happy for Parker, I don't want to be down around him. It doesn't mean he's cured me or anything, but it gives me something else to think about."

Sandford and her partner Wayne Bridge welcomed their first child, Parker, in October 2013. The couple have been together since December 2010 and in April 2013, they announced their engagement. Just weeks later, the singer confirmed she was pregnant.
