According to the local authority, the number of carers has seen its largest increase since a significant recruitment drive was launched in 2005.
In the past year, the Council has welcomed 68 new foster carers, to bring the total to more than 500.
The announcement comes as Council Leader, Councillor Gordon Matheson, is expected to unveil a 2% pay rise in the weekly allowance of carers.
Mr Matheson is quoted by the BBC as saying: "Foster carers are a vital part of our care system. When families run into difficulties, it's often foster carers who step in to pick up the pieces.
"More than anything, children need a stable, warm and loving environment in which to grow and that's exactly what foster carers provide.
"Glasgow is proud of the fact that it supports its vulnerable and it is only right that we increase the allowances we pay to foster carers to support the children in their care."
