South Yorkshire Police have now appealed for information regarding the theft.
The property, located on Clay Flat Lane, was broken into some time between 10am on Sunday 13 April and 3.30am on Monday 14 April.
The rings were among the items stolen. Police have said they are Palladium wedding rings, one of which is similar to that pictured, and both are engraved with the phrase, 'Brian and Nikki 20/4/2014'.
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: "While any burglary is undoubtedly distressing for the victims, this case was especially upsetting as the couple's wedding rings were stolen less than a week before their marriage ceremony – which did go ahead, but with substitute rings.
"The stolen rings are clearly of great sentimental value and it would mean a huge amount to this newlywed couple to get them back."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
