Waring Hits Back In Marsh Feud

Stephanie Waring has issued a lengthy statement in response to newspaper claims that her ex-partner Dan Hooper "moved on" to a relationship with her friend Kym Marsh – just six weeks after they separated.

Waring, 36, has previously said she was left "hurt" and "humiliated" after discovering Hooper was dating her friend when pictures appeared on social networking sites.

At the time, a spokesperson for Marsh told the MailOnline: "Kym is very upset that Stephanie feels the way she does and is disappointed she has chosen to sell her story to a newspaper rather than speak to her directly.

"Kym and Dan are not in a relationship but have both been single for some time and are entitled to socialise with whomever they wish. Kym has more dignity than to respond further."

In a later interview with OK! magazine, Marsh, 37, then admitted: "I haven't stolen anyone's man, Dan was single – and there's no denying he's hot."

Now, Waring has shared her feelings with her fans. Taking to her Twitter account, the Hollyoaks' actress wrote: "In reference to this week's New Magazine's article published today, I have no choice but to defend myself in addressing the following untrue statements made about me:

"1. I was not 'gushing' nor was I 'singing Dan's praises' at the Soap Awards. I was interviewed at the event and when asked how things were with Dan and I, I chose to speak positively and in good faith towards the father of my child – for her sake.

"2. I haven't 'dragged' anyone's name 'through the mud'. The last month has shone an unwelcomed spotlight on my private life which I had to respond to in my only interview (The Sun) purely to defend the inaccuracies coming from 'sources' about myself and my personal life.

"3. For my reaction to be labelled 'unnecessarily stressful' is insulting. Everyone can see which person is carrying the stress and which person is provoking it.

"4. I never 'recently admitted' anything on Twitter. I clarified to someone who was voicing their opinion, that I had never once said my man had been 'stolen'. Not once have I said those words. I had to endure finding out that the father of my child had moved onto someone else, someone I considered to be a friend, only 6 weeks after we had separated. This new dalliance was then flaunted through online social sites which was hurtful and humiliating. This continues to be stressful for me with biased articles written like this and fuelled by malicious sources once again.

"5. I am pleased The Sun gave me a right to reply. Most people out there would have taken that opportunity to speak for themselves too. 'Selling ones story' is applied to every single person you read an interview with or feature about. Including cover stories in OK magazine. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."

She concluded: "I'm trying to move forward for my daughters' sake. As a single mum, all I can do is focus on my family and work hard. This is the last thing I will ever say on this matter, anything else published in the press will not have come from me."

Waring and Hooper, 31, have one daughter together, named Lexi, while Waring is also a mum to Mia from a previous relationship.
