The model, who has a child with husband David Walliams, made the confession in an interview with the Evening Standard.
She added that she only discovered she was no longer employed when she turned up for the job – and found someone else had taken her place.
The 30-year-old said: "I was really upset at the time. I hadn't yet had my three-month scan and I felt really vulnerable about everything. I no longer had a job.
"That was it – I had to just stop everything that I knew; the way my life was."
She also spoke about what it was like to finally return to work after giving birth.
"I've had a few meetings because when they hear pregnancy they freak out a bit, so they need to see if I fit in their clothes. Everyone's so nice to you all the time.
"And it's like, 'Ugh, you don't have to be'. It feels quite alienating because it's like everyone's just lying to you," she explained.
Stone and Walliams first started dating in September 2009. Speaking about their relationship, the model admitted she wasn't interested in romance at the time, but "David had been pursuing me, then he stopped and a few months later I thought maybe we should go on a date.
"We got on really well, fell in love and the rest is history."
In January 2010, the couple announced their engagement and they married in London that May. In November 2012, they confirmed they were expecting their first child together and the following May, they welcomed a baby boy named Alfred.
