The actor, who starred in The Shield, entered the plea in a Los Angeles court on Wednesday (18 June).
On 19 May, Jace's wife April was shot a number of times at the family home. Prosecutors claim the 51-year-old shot his partner while their two children were in the house at the time. Police have said Mr Jace called them to report the shooting, and he was at the property when they arrived.
Appearing in court, Mr Jace's bail was set at £1.2m ($2m). He was also ordered to have no contact with his children if he is released. Speaking to the media afterwards, his lawyer, Jason Sias, said that while his client could seek a reduction of his bail in the future, he would not contest the order to keep him away from his children.
Mr Sias explained: "Mr Jace is just concerned about his children."
It is understood the children, who are both under the age of 10, are currently living with relatives.
Jace is due in court again on 1 August.
A motive for the killing has not been revealed by officers and investigations are said to be ongoing. Jace's lawyers added that the case is still in the "early stages", while Mrs Jace's family have described her death as a "senseless act of domestic violence".
The Jace's were married for nine years and have two children together. Mr Jace also has another child from a former relationship. He was previously married to Jennifer Bitterman, but they divorced in 2002.
