That's according to a new survey by dating site Zoosk.
The website, which also has an app, looked at 1,200 female profiles for the study and discovered that those who wear make-up, such as eye shadow, blush and lipstick, are three times more likely to receive a message from a male member of the site.
It appears that men have a preference for eye make-up, with women wearing the cosmetic receiving 139% more first messages than those who didn't. Lipstick claimed second place with women receiving 119% more first messages compared to those not wearing a colour.
For those wearing blush or bronzer, they received 24% more notes or messages than those who didn't.
Despite the findings, while men do prefer a woman who wears make-up, they also prefer the 'natural' look.
Zoosk polled some 1,800 male members of its site and found that 66% do not find dates who wear dark make-up attractive, while 57% claimed red lipstick is an unattractive first-date choice.
Likewise, when it comes to hair, natural is the way forward as well. 84% of respondents preferred a natural style as opposed to hair that has been dyed an unnatural colour. Interestingly, a natural wave is also popular with men, as is a style with some form of texture to it, as only 9% said they preferred a straight, flat style.
