Cheryl Cole Announces Marriage

Cheryl Cole has confirmed she has tied the knot with her French partner Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.

The couple have been in a relationship for just three months after meeting at the Cannes Film Festival in May.

Taking to her official website to announce the news, 31-year-old Cole issued a statement saying: "I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news... Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14. We are very happy and excited to move forward with our lives together."


According to The Sun, the couple married on a beach on the island of Mustique. Just four guests, including Cole's mother, attended the ceremony.

The former Girls Aloud singer was previously married to footballer Ashley Cole, but following allegations that he had been unfaithful, they divorced in 2010. Following their separation, she kept her married surname explaining that she "wasn't ashamed" of her marriage. However, on Monday night she had dropped her ex-husband's surname from her Twitter handle, later confirming that she is to take her new partner's name and become Mrs Fernandez-Versini.
