The former EastEnders' actress revealed the news in an interview with Hello! magazine.
McCutcheon, 38, added that she and husband Jay McManus, are expecting a baby boy.
Her baby news comes after a number of health issues for the McCutcheon, which left her wondering if she would be able to become a mother.
Speaking to the publication, she explained: "We'd always said that if we were fortunate to be blessed with a child, that would be wonderful, but we were very aware that it's not a given.
"As a woman in her late 30s who's experienced health problems, I thought I might have to accept that it wasn't a path my life was going to take, but it would have been a great sadness in our lives if that had been the case."
The actress married 30-year-old McManus, who is a musician, in 2012. In an interview last year, McCutcheon spoke of her desire to have a family after she overcame her health issues, that included chronic fatigue syndrome and depression.
At the time, she confessed: "I love kids and this has made me realise I'd love to have children. I now know that I'll be well enough to take care of them and be able to have that choice but I just want to get myself and my body back to normal first."
McCutcheon is due to give birth in February next year.
