Michael Tomlin, 31, is so obsessed that he even asked guests to wear purple clothing, similar to the colour of the drink. According to the Daily Mail, the groom and his ushers wore purple ties and purple cufflinks for the ceremony, while at the reception, everything was based around the drink. For example, the table decorations, while wedding favours like sweets, candy, floss and bonbons served from an old-fashioned sweet cart also shared the taste of Vimto.
There was even a dedication from the best man, who joked that his speech "is sponsored by Vimto".
Mr Tomlin is quoted by the publication as saying his love for the drink first started when he was a young boy and his grandmother made it for him. He admitted: "It is a special memory for me.
''When I met Liz I even took her to a Vimto statue in Manchester city centre for our first date and I proposed to her at the same spot four years later.
"Vimto is at the centre of our hearts, so it was only fitting that it played a major part in our day. When I first met I was telling her the history of the drink and she loves all things history."
Tomlin and his wife Liz first met in 2005. They spent their honeymoon in Lanzarote – where the groom made sure to pack some cartons of the juice in his luggage.
