The singer and her partner, Justin Scott, became first-time parents to a baby boy named Bobby last week.
Writing in her column for OK! magazine, the 32-year-old said: "A lot of people thought I was having a girl, so it was a nice surprise to have a boy.
"My friends had joked that my baby would arrive on time because I'm so punctual, and he did!
"I went into labour last Wednesday September 3 and gave birth at 4.52pm the next day – September 4 – which was my due date."
She continued: "Like most new mums, I feel a bit shell-shocked, but Justin's being an amazing support and fortunately feeding is going well so far."
The couple, who have been in a relationship for more than a decade, announced they were expecting their first child together in February.
