Embarrassing Wedding Moments Revealed

A new survey has revealed the most embarrassing moments likely to occur at a wedding, from guests, to inappropriate jokes and that all-important first dance.

The research, which has been published in the Daily Mail, found that when it comes to the most embarrassing person on the big day, the mother of the groom takes the honour. However, she is closely followed by the mother of the bride, who cries an average of six times on the day.

Other moments that can leave a person red-faced at a wedding is when two guests turn up in the same outfit, while the best man also makes the list by cracking two 'inappropriate' jokes.

Elsewhere, there will be an average of five guests who will cry at some stage during the day, as well as one unexpected romance.

Some 1,500 newlyweds took part in the survey, but even they don't come out unscathed. 22% of couples now choreograph their own routine for that memorable first dance, while a further 15% share their efforts on YouTube.

Focusing on the wedding day itself, tradition is still key for some couples, with 28% opting for a church wedding, while 33% married at a registry office instead. Weather is also an important factor in a couple's big day, with half of British weddings taking place during the summer months, while the rest are spread out over the rest of the year.
