The rapper, whose real name is Stephen Manderson, tied the knot with Ms Mackintosh in September 2013.
The couple try to keep their private life away from the spotlight, but in a recent interview with Heat magazine, the 30-year-old opened up about their relationship.
"Most of our relationship is driven by humour. All we do is take the p**s out of each other until one of us cries," he joked. "That's been the downfall of our sex life, I think – box sets. We've done House Of Cards, Breaking Bad, 24, American Horror Story."
However, the musician then turned serious when he discussed the issue of marriage. He admitted that he "didn't believe" in the institution until after he had met his now-wife.
He explained: "I never wanted to marry anyone. I didn't believe in marriage, I've not got any real examples of lasting relationships in my family, so I was like, 'I just don't really want that pressure'.
"But, as soppy as it sounds, I guess you do know, otherwise I wouldn't have done it, would I?
"Maybe it was some point when I was holding her hair back as she prayed to the porcelain gods or something."
Professor Green and Mackintosh first met in late 2011, when the rapper spotted the socialite on the cover of FHM magazine. He asked his manager to get his number and the couple started dating shortly after.
In March 2013, during a romantic trip to Paris, the couple announced their engagement. They married at Babington House, Somerset, that September.
