The woman was sitting at a bus stop at around 5.45am on Saturday 11 October when she was approached by three youths. They attacked the woman and stole her handbag.
It is understood the woman was about six weeks pregnant.
In a statement, Greater Manchester Police said: "As a result of the attack the woman has lost her baby."
A 17-year-old has been charged in connection with the robbery. He appeared before Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on Thursday (16 October). The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was remanded into youth detention accommodation until his trial at Manchester Crown Court. His trial has been set for 16 April next year.
A second youth, also 17, has been arrested on suspicion of robbery, while police have released CCTV footage of another youth they want to speak to in relation to the attack.
He is described as white, aged between 16 and 20 and was wearing a black hooded top with white stripes down the arms, a black body warmer and dark tracksuit bottoms.
