Wife Discovered Husband's Second 'Marriage' On Facebook

A 49-year-old man has been exposed as a bigamist when his wife discovered pictures on Facebook of his second marriage.

Yvonne Gibney, 55, found photographs of her husband, Maurice Gibney, as he married another woman in Oman, in the Middle East.


Mrs Gibney discovered that her husband had been married to a woman called Suzanne Prudhoe, for 11 months, according to reports.

She later found out that Mr Gibney's mother had walked him down the isle, and his daughter, Mrs Gibney's step daughter, was a bridesmaid.

Mr Gibney is understood to have pleaded guilty to bigamy at a hearing at Wirral Magistrates' Court in Merseyside, and was sentenced to six-months in prison, suspended for two years.
