A new survey has found that one in six people now end up regretting getting their tattoos; with removal requests surging by 300%.
Celebrities have also fallen foul of having a lover's name tattooed on their body. For example, couples Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, Katy Perry and Russell Brand, and Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom, each decided to get matching tattoos ahead of their respective unions, but none of the above couples are together today. On the other hand, David and Victoria Beckham, and Beyonce and Jay Z also chose to mark their union with matching tattoos and are still happily together.
Wayne Joyce, PicoSure practitioner and co-founder of the Reset Room in London, is quoted in the MailOnline as saying: "It's such an endearing gesture to get a tattoo when in a relationship, but one thing that's for certain is the life span of a tattoo can outlive relationships. Let's hope that's never the case for most people.
"But there is need to be pragmatic and think is it worth the risk, as you always should, when permanently marking your body. If there's a breakdown in a relationship, you could be left with a permanent reminder of the hurt, but there's always the option to remove or modify."
