The couple secretly tied the knot in August, revealing the news in an official statement a week after the ceremony.
Very few details about their big day have since been released, but Jolie and Pitt's six children were said to have played a role in the wedding, with eldest sons Maddox and Pax walking their mother down the aisle. Zahara and Vivienne threw petals, while Shiloh and Knox served as ring bearers.
In a new interview with US Vanity Fair, the 39-year-old actress has now revealed how the family prepared for the ceremony.
She said: "They [the children] did not expect us never to fight, but they always made us promise to say sorry if we do. So they said 'do you?' and we said, 'We do!'
"It does feel different, it feels nice to be husband and wife."
She added that the children, whose drawings decorated her wedding veil, had a say in organising some of the wedding details.
"There was no cake so Pax made a cake," she explained. "The kids made little pillows for the rings and Knox practised [being the ring bearer] with an acorn that kept falling off the pillow.
"Brad's mom went and picked some flowers and tied them up."
Jolie and Pitt's wedding took place at the chapel at Chateau Miravel with just 20 guests in attendance. The newlyweds hosted a lunch at their house on the estate after the ceremony, with wine from their own vineyard accompanying the meal.
