The couple, who announced their engagement in June, are said to be planning to tie the knot before the end of the year and it is thought McDaid is involved in the music for the couple's big day.
According to the US edition of OK! magazine, a source claimed: "[He's written three new tracks], two love songs for Courteney and one that will honour his late father."
The publication added that the wedding will take place very soon, with Ed Sheeran rumoured to be best man. Sheeran introduced the couple last year and has credited himself for the success of his friends' relationship.
Cox, 50, and McDaid, 38, are also said to be planning two weddings – so all of their families can attend.
"Courteney and Johnny had always planned on doing something in Northern Ireland for his friends and family there, but it will be a small celebration after their wedding in LA on November 8," the source added. It is thought that both ceremonies will be low-key.
The couple started dating in 2013 and were the subject of engagement rumours as early as April 2014. However, it wasn't until June when the pair announced they were to marry.
