Oliver Mellor has revealed he is engaged to girlfriend Rhian Sugden.
The former Coronation Street star proposed on Saturday evening – in front of 1,000 people. The actor had been performing in a show at Manchester Opera House, and afterwards, he is said to have jumped off the stage and made his way to where his partner was sitting. He then got down on one knee and asked the former Page 3 model to marry him.
She said yes, causing the audience to erupt into cheers.
Speaking to The Sun following the proposal, Mellor, 33, said: "I'm just so glad she did [say yes]. But I'll be rushing back to the jewellers – the ring's far too big."
His fiancée added: "I started blubbing like a baby. He's definitely the one for me, even if he did get a ring the size of a hula hoop."
She also shared her happy news with her followers on Twitter. Posting a photo of the couple kissing, she captioned the image: "So this just happened!! I am engaged!!! Happiest person ever!! (sic)".
Mellor added: "I have never been so happy @Rhianmarie #engaged".
