The man, who has been named as Mohammed Khelya, was on honeymoon when the incident happened.
According to the BBC, Mr Khelya, who is said to be in his early 20s, had to be removed from the flight from Manchester on Monday when he became aggressive, having drank a bottle of vodka during the flight.
His wife is thought to have moved seats on the plane to get away from him, and when flight staff refused to let him see his partner, he threatened to "kill everyone" on the plane.
It is understood Mr Khelya confessed to two offences in Bermuda yesterday.
The court heard the accused had been drinking for a number of hours on the flight before he had a row with his new wife. When she, and other passengers nearby, moved seats to get away from him, prosecutors said Khelya asked to see his partner. However, it has been reported that she didn't want to see him, which resulted in the accused telling a flight attendant: "I'm going to kill you and I'm going to kill everyone after."
After being handcuffed and taken to the back of the airplane, he was also covered with a blanket when he started to spit on some of the passengers.
He was later escorted off the flight by police when the flight was rerouted to L.F. Wade International Airport in Bermuda.
He was fined £1,900.
His wife, who has not been named, continued on to Cuba but is now back in the UK.
A spokesperson for Thomas Cook said: "Thomas Cook Airlines can confirm that flight TCX244 from Manchester to Holguin, Cuba, diverted to Bermuda and a customer was removed from the aircraft and detained by local police.
"We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards any behaviour on board our aircraft that affects the safety and welfare of our customers and crew."
