The television presenter, who suffers from alopecia and has bi-polar disorder, has said she sometimes feels insecure and being "43 and bald" leaves her thinking she is "a funny looking thing".
Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland's Funny Kind of Love, the mum-of-one was formerly married to Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave, but the pair have remained friends. While Hipgrave has since remarried, his ex admits she doesn't know if she will ever walk down the aisle again.
She said: "He's [Hipgrave] now extremely happy. He's got a gorgeous wife. He should have met her first, really. I remember when I first saw her I was like 'that's the woman you should have married, not me'.
"We get on great and it's all fine now, but it's a bit sad though because I'm now thinking 'I'm 43 and I'm bald, it's not going to happen again now is it?'"
She added that she doesn't believe she is "attractive in the slightest", which can be problematic.
"I always think I'm a funny looking thing," she commented. "When I did rehab I didn't speak for four weeks, nothing, because I didn't think I was important."
Porter has also revealed that when she is in a relationship, she will tell her partner that there are days when "it goes a bit wrong".
She said: "I always do [say]. I say, 'you know what? There's going to be a day, or a couple of days, it's all going to go a bit wrong'. I always know when I wake up.
"If I've ever been seeing someone, I'll say 'Look, do you know what? Today's going to be really bad. I would suggest you go out. Just go somewhere, or take me to the cinema or just do something but just don't ask me to make any decisions about anything', because I just go a little bit weird."
Porter and Hipgrave married in August 2001 and welcomed their daughter, Honey, in September 2002. The couple separated in 2004.
