The couple have been together for six-and-a-half years.
Speaking to OK! magazine, the 29-year-old said: "It's something that's going to be organic rather than, 'If I get to this stage in the competition, I'm going to propose'.
"Without wanting to give too much away, I would like to do it soon."
He was then pressed as to whether he would be proposing to his partner, Jessica Jones, at Christmas to which the singer replied: "Who knows?"
The couple first met when Haenow was 15 and Jones was 13, but they didn't start dating until eight years later.
During his arena audition for the show earlier this year, Haenow famously told the judges he and his girlfriend were "looking to get married sometime soon" – much to the surprise of his girlfriend.

Ben Haenow, one of the finalists in this year's X Factor, has revealed he is to propose to his girlfriend "soon".The couple have been together for six-and-a-half years.
