Appearing on ITV's 'This Morning', the couple, who married in September, insisted they are not separating and labelled the claims as "baloney".
Katona, 34, told hosts Philip Schofield and Amanda Holden: "It's absolute baloney – it's all made up.
"I'm happy with my husband, my kids are happy, everyone's happy. Since my life has turned around for the better, it seems they [the press] have to make something up."
She then explained: "I was doing an interview and they said to me, 'So do you think all your troubles are behind you now then?' and I said, 'Well no, because that's not life is it?'
"I've got five kids, two teenagers and I'm sure they are going to bring murder to my door once or twice – there are hurdles along the way, it's not a perfect life and the next thing 'Kerry admits life is a car crash', so it got completely twisted."
And when questioned about her marriage to Kay, the singer replied: "It's just normal. The same as every other couple."
Katona and Kay have been in a relationship since 2012, but have been friends for a number of years. They announced their engagement in 2013 and in April 2014, welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Dylan Jorge.
While Dylan is Kay's first child, his wife is also a mum to Molly 13, and Lilly Sue, 11, from her first marriage to Brian McFadden, and Heidi, seven, and six-year-old Max from her second marriage to Mark Croft.
