Matt Bellamy On Hudson Split

Matt Hudson has taken to social media to assure fans that his recent split from Kate Hudson is "for the best".

On Monday, it was confirmed the couple had ended their engagement some time ago.

Taking to Twitter, the 36-year-old, who is a member of British rock band, wrote: "Love all of you guys! We're both very happy, it's for the best. Thanks for your kind words."


Hudson, 35, and Bellamy, 32, started dating in 2010. Just a couple of months into their relationship, the actress fell pregnant with their first child together. In April 2011, the pair announced their engagement and that July, their son, Bingham, was born.

Hudson is also a mother to 10-year-old son Ryder from her former marriage to Chris Robinson. The couple were married from 2000 before separating in 2006.
