The average person will receive eight Christmas presents this year – but will hate two of them.
For men, the gifts they most dread are tacky ties, Christmas jumpers and socks. While for women, diet books, plastic surgery vouchers and ornaments are a no-no.
Interestingly, while many dislike the presents they are given, almost a quarter of those polled confessed they buy gifts they know their recipient will hate.
It isn't all bad new though, as both men and women are in agreement that the best gift they could receive this year is cash, while 18% would like a beach holiday.
