Brides Left Devastated After Bridal Shop Closes

A number of brides-to-be have been left devastated after a bridal shop in Reading closed suddenly.

On Wednesday, Perfection Bridal, located on Blagrave Street, issued a statement on its Facebook page which read: "It is with great sadness that we must announce the closure of Perfection Bridal & Menswear in Reading.

"We would like to thank all of our customers who have supported the shop over the years.

"This store has ceased trading and will not re-open."

The post added that the Facebook account "is not monitored", instead asking people to direct their enquiries to Philip Medlam, from Medlams Auctions, an insolvency firm in Chichester.

The store also posted a similar notice in the front window of the premises.

According to a report by the Reading Post, Mr Medlam is quoted as saying: "We are very much aware of how traumatic this is for brides, whether they are getting married next month or later in the year, to be told your dress may not be available. But we are doing all we can to get this resolved, it will just take a week to get everything in order."
