Appearing on 'Lorraine', the mum-to-be said: "I had three miscarriages and not the easiest time. The reason I've been so vocal about this is often you see all this, 'My pregnancy joy' and 'I've had an amazing pregnancy' and it's not like that for everyone.
"I think it's quite nice to say, 'No, I haven't had a good time but there is a product at the end cooking in there."
The actress went on to say that the NHS will only start an investigation into recurrent miscarriages after three miscarriages, and she and her partner eventually visited a private clinic in London. Following a number of tests, it was discovered that Silva 's blood wasn't clotting properly, her immune system was attacking the embryo as if it was a foreign object, and she had an underactive thyroid.
"It was all of those things together," she said which led to her losing her unborn babies, adding: "As soon as I got pregnant again, I had this massive plan of action of medication to take, stages to go through hand so on. Each stage has been bitter sweet, though, as you're like, 'Brilliant, we've got to this point' but you're still not completely out of danger zone."
In November 2014, the 34-year-old revealed she and her fiancé, businessman Oliver Farber, were expecting their first child together. The actress shared her baby news after she turned down a chance to reappear in Emmerdale because she wanted to concentrate on her pregnancy instead.
