The pair announced their engagement in January 2014, following a two-month romance. They tied the knot at the Holy Trinity Church in Plaistow, West Sussex, in August 2014, but it is understood the newlyweds separated just before the Christmas holidays.
News of the couple's split was reported in The Sun, and the former model later confirmed the news. The 36-year-old told the publication: "It's with sadness that David and I have separated. My priority remains my son Indio."
A friend of the model added: "She now admits they rushed into the marriage and they didn't really know each other well enough to make such a big commitment.
"It just wasn't working so they mutually made the difficult decision to end things rather than stay in a relationship that didn't have a future."
This is the second failed marriage for Kidd. She married Aidan Butler in September 2005, but the couple separated 18 months later. The model then dated Argentinian polo player Andrea Vianini. In September 2011, the couple welcomed their first child together, a son named Indio. The pair later separated in the summer of 2013.
