The 'She's Back' research project is encouraging women in the insurance industry to take part in the study which focuses on individual motivations and how, in understanding them, targeted programmes can be developed to improve the rate at which more mature women are able to fulfil their own career potential and have a leading role in the economy. The findings will also aim to identify the support women need and what steps organisations can implement in order to attract women back to work.
The research covers a number of industry sectors and asks women who have either taken time off, or decided not to come back to work, to complete the survey.
Amanda Blanc, CEO of AXA Commercial Lines and Personal Intermediary, explained: "We can't underestimate the importance and value woman can bring to an organisation and I am pleased that we are able to support the She's Back initiative.
"As part of this initiative, we will be running our own workshops, facilitated by She's Back. The first will explore why women leave corporate life immediately prior to or after having children.
"The second workshop, amongst women who have had children and continued to succeed in their careers, will identify what was in place to help them to return to work. This will help us to understand how organisations can help to better accommodate women in the workforce.
"AXA already provides a strong support framework of flexible working arrangements, as well as coaching pre, during and post maternity leave, but the results of this survey will give us, as well as the business community at large, additional insight to make it easier for women to return to work after maternity leave."
The survey can be found here.
