The research, commissioned by sunshine.co.uk, also found that the annoying habits vary when it comes to men and women.
Men, for example, hate it when their partner shows too much flesh on holiday (67%), while 51% dislikes when their other half keeps a close eye on their spending money. 46% of men complain about a partner taking too long to get ready, while 32% bemoaned the fact that they spend too much time sunbathing. For 21% they claimed their partner is an embarrassing drunk.
And for the women? Well, 47% hit out at their partner for "butchering" the local language, while 38% said their other half was an embarrassing drunk. 32% said they were annoyed when their partner ogles other women while on holiday. Being too messy at the hotel (27%) and excessive sweating (16%) also made it onto the women's list of holiday pet peeves.
A total of 1,578 adults took part in the survey, all of whom had been on holiday with their partner in the past year. 75% confessed that during the trip, there had been an aspect of their behaviour that annoyed them. However, while 46% said they confronted their partner about it, 77% of those said it ultimately led to an argument.
Despite this, 71% of respondents said that they felt happier in their relationship when on holiday with their partner than at any other time.
Commenting on the findings, Chris Clarkson, Managing Director of sunshine.co.uk, said: "I suppose for some people it can be a bit of a shock going from only spending evenings and weekends with your partner, due to busy work schedules, to spending 24/7 with them on holiday.
"This extra time together and the relaxed holiday environment often bring things to the fore which you hadn't noticed about your partner previously, or which seem to irritate you.
"Our advice would be to just kick back and enjoy your holiday and the time you have to spend together. So what if your other half is having a go at speaking the language? Good on them.
"If there are certain behaviours that start to bug you, like them checking out other people, just let them know how you feel to try and nip it in the bud."
