Airports Welcome Breastfeeding Booths

Three airports in the United States have welcomed the introduction of private booths to allow mothers to breastfeed their children.

The 'pumping and nursing pods' have been designed to provide nursing mothers with a safe, clean and functional space to feed their baby, the creators Mamava have said.

One of the booths is located at the JetBlue Terminal at Kennedy Airport, one at La Guardia Airport in New York, and two at Newark Liberty International Airport. The four-foot by-eight-foot booths have two benches inside to accommodate up to a family of four with their luggage, it is understood.

Mamava has said it plans to expand the initiative, which has seen the pods sponsored by household and baby care company Seventh Generation.
