The singer, who rose to fame on The X Factor, is a mum of two boys – Zachary, seven, and three-year-old Leighton – and opened up about motherhood in a new interview with Essentials magazine.
The 25-year-old added that it is her choice to raise her children by herself.
She explained: "It's my choice to be a single mum – I'm not sure it's all that different to being a mum with a partner. In most families now, mum and dad will both work full time. It's expensive to live and to run a home, so you have to go to work and that's that."
However, she also said that she sometimes questions her decisions when it comes to work: "Am I doing the right thing? Is this what they need? Is it going to help them grow properly? I don't think there's one right way to do things.
"I'll be feeling guilty because my job isn't 9 'til 5 and I have to work away a lot, whereas a mum who has to go to work at 7am and doesn't get home until 7pm will feel guilty too.
"All it really boils down to is that you love them enough."
Solomon gave birth to her first child with her then-boyfriend Dean Cox, when she was 18. The couple separated before their son was born, and the singer raised the boy by herself.
"I had no idea what I was doing," she admitted. "I did it without his father, so it was hard and I suffered badly with anxiety, but my family helped. [Postnatal depression] is something you don't realise you've got until you're out of it and look back, then you think, 'Oh god, I haven't felt like that in a long time'."
In 2009, she met Aaron Barnham during a holiday to Greece and the pair became engaged in December 2011. They welcomed their first child together in May 2012, but their relationship broke down last year. Solomon is now dating Steve-O who she met on reality television show The Jump in February 2015.
