In an interview with OK! magazine last week, the 28-year-old hit out at couples who feel the need to document their lives together on social media. She said at the time: "I can't stand it when couples flood social media with pictures of themselves, that's not real to me. I don't need to post pictures of Jake to prove I love him or that our relationship is real."
However, Goodger – who is constantly taking selfies of herself and posting them online – quickly faced heavy criticism for her interview after she started uploading a number of photographs to her Instagram account. She has now taken to her column for new! magazine to defend her comments.
She wrote: "I didn't say people can't post pictures of their partner, or that I never would. Of course I'll upload pictures of me and Jake from time to time!'
"What I meant is, I didn't feel the need to prove anything to anyone. People can post what they like on social media and it's nice if couples who are in love post lovely things – each to their own!"
She then went on to share more selfies of herself with McLean.
Goodger and McLean first dated for over a year before going their separate ways in December 2013. They were rumoured to have reunited – only to break-up again – on a number of occasions since, but Goodger recently confirmed the couple were back together.
