Channel 4 Commissions New Wedding Doc

Channel 4 has confirmed its commission of a new wedding documentary, My Big Fat Wedding (working title).

The one-off hour-long observational documentary will follow a bridal shop in the north of England which caters for plus size brides. The owners of the bridal boutique – Lucy and Paula – stock off-the-peg dresses between the sizes of 20 and 38. They also offer bespoke dresses as large as size 54.


'My Big Fat Wedding' is due to air on Channel 4 later this year.

Commenting on the documentary, Ian Dunkley, Commissioning Editor, Factual Entertainment, said: "This is a warm, affectionate look at women who have found a way to say that size really doesn't matter when it comes to looking good on your wedding day."
