Fall In Breastfeeding Levels – Report

There has been a fall in the number of mothers breastfeeding in the eight weeks after the birth of their child.

According to the latest figures from NHS England, the rate for breastfeeding at six to eight weeks after birth continues to fall.

For the last quarter of 2014/15, the statistics reveal that 43.8% of infants were totally or partially breastfed at the six to eight week check. This is a fall from 45.8% in 2013/14 and 47.2% in 2012/13.
