Last month, People magazine claimed the One Direction singer was expecting his first child with 23-year-old Briana Jungwirth. The couple were said to have been introduced to each other earlier this year, shortly after Tomlinson's separation from his long-time girlfriend Eleanor Calder, but they are not in a relationship.
Tomlinson's bandmate Liam Payne appeared to confirm the baby news was true earlier this week in an interview with Jo Parkerson for Magic Radio, when the 21-year-old said: "Obviously I was a bit shocked but he's [Tomlinson] taken super well to it. He's very excited with what's going on with him at the moment and I feel that stuff like that happens sometimes. He's taking it very seriously."
But now, Tomlinson himself has spoken out about the reports. Making an appearance with his One Direction bandmates on Good Morning America on Tuesday, host Michael Strahan started out the interview by addressing Tomlinson directly, saying: "From one father to another, I want to congratulate you on your upcoming fatherhood. How are you feeling?"
The singer replied: "Obviously it's a very exciting time, so I'm buzzing, thank you."
