Gillian Taylforth's Fears For Fiancé's Health

Gillian Taylforth has admitted she is concerned that her fiancé's cancer has spread.

The actress returned to EastEnders earlier this month, but it is understood her television return has been overshadowed by the news. Her partner, David Fairbairn, was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014, and he is now said to be undergoing further tests after doctors discovered abnormalities in his results.

A source is quoted by the Daily Mirror as saying: "Dave is trying to remain as upbeat as possible. He is going into hospital on Thursday for a colonoscopy and is hoping to get the all clear. However, at the back of his mind, he is concerned the cancer may have spread beyond his prostate."

Taylforth, 60, met Fairburn in 2012 and became engaged in 2013. She first discussed his diagnosis in February of this year – just over a year after her ex-partner, Geoff Knights, died from cancer. Knights, who died in November 2013, had been diagnosed with stomach cancer just three months earlier after complaining of stomach pains.

The couple, who had two children together, were in a relationship for 23 years before they separated in 2009.
