Church In Wales 'Supports Same-Sex Marriage'

More than half of the governing body of the Church in Wales are understood to have voted in favour of same-sex church marriage ceremonies.

According to reports, the secret ballot took place earlier this week. Of the 120 members present, 61 voted in favour of same-sex church marriages, while 50 voted for no change and nine voted to allow blessings.

While same-sex couples are allowed to marry in Wales, there is no law allowing them to marry in the church. Despite a slim majority vote, however, any changes to the constitution requires a new bill to be approved and passed.
