Ellie Goulding Denies Song Is About Her Ex

Ellie Goulding has denied claims that her new single, On My Mind, is about her ex-boyfriend Ed Sheeran.

The singer was taking part on a promotional radio tour in the UK on Thursday in relation to her new single when she was quizzed about who the song was written about.

In 2014, Sheeran released a song titled 'Don't', which was said to be written about Goulding, who had an alleged tryst with One Direction's Niall Horan. Goulding and Sheeran were thought to have been dating at the time.

Goulding's new single is now said to be about a former lover, with many speculating that it is her ex. However, the 28-year-old told MTV: "I'm sorry to all the people that want it to be about someone – it's not, it's like a myth."

In relation to the "tattoo" lyrics found in the song, of which Sheeran has many adorning his body, she added: "I like guys with tattoos, my boyfriend [McBusted's Dougie Poynter] has tattoos... but I don't mind. People can read into it however they want. It's fun to do that, I would do that too."
