Photos of the pair emerged of them attending the Pride of Britain awards together and Jay told The Sun on Sunday that he thinks Vilani's husband, Vincent Kavanagh, is a "legend".
Speaking to the publication, he said: "Aliona is happily married to an Irish fellow who I think is a legend. I am single but I didn't expect to meet someone on Strictly."
He continued: "As some of The Wanted's fans pointed out, it's a dance show, not a dating show. There won't be any wandering eyes, either.
"My eyes won't wander in our rehearsals. She's the one in control and I'm the one who needs to be constantly told what the hell it is I'm supposed to be doing."
