The research, commissioned by AXA insurance, found the final shortlist to be dominated by traditional rhymes – while the famous song 'Let It Go' from Disney movie Frozen, also made an appearance.
Classics such as 'Wheels on the Bus', and 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star' secured the first and second spot, respectively, with 51% and 34%. However, coming in at third place, was the modern hit, Let It Go, with 26%. Other rhymes making the final 10 include 'Hickory Dickory Dock', 'Three Blind Mice', and 'Baa, Baa, Black Sheep'.
The results come as it was revealed that 54% of parents will sing during car journeys in order to keep children entertained. Meanwhile, 59% of parents will give their children toys to play with in the car, and 45% will provide food and drink.
For those with kids between 0 and 1 years, 30% admit they and their partner take turns sitting in the backseat to keep their children entertained on a journey.
The focus on singing and in-car entertainment is said to be a diversion for most parents, as 45% said they worry about long journeys due to crying children, while 22% are concerned about food and drink spillages on car seats.
The top 10 nursery rhymes are:

James Barclay, Head of Product Management at AXA, added: "With the last bank holiday of the summer fast approaching, we want parents to have enjoyable and fuss-free car journeys. AXA's research shows it's the little things that parents do that mean a lot; ensuring car journeys run smoothly with children.
