Carey Mulligan Confirms She's A Mum

Carey Mulligan has confirmed she has given birth to her first child.

The actress appeared on The Graham Norton Show and was asked by the host about the claims she was now a new mum, to which the 30-year-old replied: "It's a girl."

It is the first child for Mulligan and her husband Marcus Mumford. She didn't reveal any further details regarding their daughter, but said she had given birth three weeks ago.


Mulligan and Mumford, who is a member of the band Mumford & Sons, tied the knot in 2012, but are fiercely protective of their relationship and keep it out of the media spotlight as much as possible. While Mulligan was the subject of pregnancy rumours earlier this year, she never once publicly confirmed the news.
