Ex-Wives Win Court Battle Over Husband's Hidden Wealth

Two women, who claimed they had been misled by their ex-husbands as to the true extent of their wealth, have won their Supreme Court fight.

Alison Sharland and Varsha Gohil had argued that their former partners had lied about their wealth when their respective divorce settlements were made, and that they should receive more money as a result.

In the rulings today, Wednesday 14 October, the Supreme Court indicated that the two claims would return to the High Court.

Lady Hale, giving the judgement of the court, said Ms Sharland had been "deprived of a full and fair hearing" as a result of her husband's actions.

The landmark ruling could now lead to more people seeking to renegotiate divorce settlements.
